CAAM presented 13 world premieres, 2 North American premieres, 3 US premieres, 10 West Coast premieres, and 37 Bay Area premieres. Over 20,000 festival goers attending screenings all over the Bay.

Sandra Oh is the first Asian American to host the show, and “Crazy Rich Asians” is nominated in two major categories. Darren Criss is up for a Best Actor award.
Director Steve James (“Hoop Dreams,” “The Interrupters”) chronicles the Chinese immigrant Sung family’s fight to clear their names amid the financial crisis.
Winners include “Minding the Gap” and “Unlovable!”
The film is about the family-owned Abacus Federal Savings Bank, the only U.S. bank to face criminal charges after the 2008 financial crisis.
