Sandra Oh is the first Asian American to host the show, and "Crazy Rich Asians" is nominated in two major categories. Darren Criss is up for a Best Actor award.

The 76th Golden Globes takes place tonight, and there is a lot to celebrate. First, we have Sandra Oh as the co-host with Andy Samberg; Oh is the first Asian person to host the show. The show airs on NBC tonight at 8pm ET/5pm PT. Oh herself is nominated for Best Actress in a dramatic television series for Killing Eve.

This year’s blockbuster romantic comedy, Crazy Rich Asians, is up for two awards, including Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy. Constance Woo is nominated in the Best Actress in a musical or comedy category, the first Asian woman in 45 years to be nominated. Crazy Rich Asians Director Jon M. Chu spoke at CAAMFest in May 2018 about the film and his pathway to the film before its release. Darren Criss is up for a Best Actor award in a limited series or motion picture made for TV for his role on The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.

In addition, author and organizer Ai-Jen Poo will attend the awards ceremony with Roma director Alfonso to represent for domestic workers.
