The fund offers grants for social issue documentary films that highlight Asian American narratives. The deadline to submit a project is Monday, August 26, 2019.
”J-town, Chinatown: Our Town” will be a multidisciplinary and multimedia work performed by esteemed artist Brenda Wong Aoki and scored by award-winning jazz musician Mark Izu.

CAAM will receive $600K to support the CAAM Future Fund to provide development, production, and outreach grants for projects produced by Asian American directors and producers
The grants will support a Virtual Reality project directed by acclaimed filmmaker Wayne Wang and storytelling from California’s diverse Central Valley.
Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Arts’ Building Bridges Program grant will enable expanded public engagement, on TV and online with 20 short films created by American Muslim youth.
Throughout CAAM’s history, the organization has supported documentary films and filmmakers through funding and by co-producing films.
