MATCHA at the Asian Art Museum returns this month with DRUNKEN DISH, celebrating the culinary traditions of Shanghai.

Shanghai is one of China’s most famous culinary regions, known for its assertive flavors and fresh ingredients. We’ve paired with the Asian Culinary Forum to present a talk and cooking demonstration on Shanghai cuisine with Martin Yan and Chef Nei of the celebrated local restaurant Jai Yun! They’ll prepare dishes from the Shanghai specialty of marinating food in Chinese wine: vegetarian goose with bean curd and rice wine, pickled cucumber in Huang Chiew wine, and the famous “drunken chicken” with Shaoxing wine. Enjoy small refreshing bites, kick back with music by DJ Friendly Traveler, toast with a drink from the cash bar, make architectural art, tour SHANGHAI before it ends on Sept. 5, and more!

MATCHA isn’t just a mixer—it’s what makes your visit to the Asian Art Museum downright exhilarating. Experience mesmerizing performances, create your own art, embark on gallery tours, see the latest special exhibition, sit in on a talk, mingle with friends over cocktails, enjoy what the DJ is spinning, and much, much more.
