This Saturday, CAAM launched the inaugural Interactive Film Contest in collaboration with the Autumn Moon Festival. Teams of participants met in the morning with the goal of creating a short film with a unique story that also highlights San Francisco’s Chinatown.

The teams included: I-Hotel, Shiba Inu Fanciers of NorCal and Mac Attack. Each team had two hours to film and edit on their mobile devices. The short films were then screened at the historic Great Star Theater in Chinatown. Jury members included Lin Kung, Gordon Chin and James Q. Chan.

The jurors chose the I-Hotel short film due to its “clear idea and preparation, mix of narrative and poetry and it’s usage and connection to Chinatown. Kudos to the aerial shots and imagery.”

Team I-Hotel was awarded $500 cash prize and became the first official selection of CAAMFest 2018. Special thanks to Eva Lee and the entire team at the Autumn Moon Festival and our sponsors: AT&T and the Robert Joseph Louie Memorial Fund.
