Joanne “Jo” Boston is Events Production Manager for the Center for Asian American Media (CAAM).

Born and bred in the SF Bay Area, Jo also is Chair for the Arts & Culture Commission for the City of Daly City and serves on the Program Advisory Board for Balay Kreative, an arts accelerator located in SOMA Pilipinas Filipino Cultural Heritage District.

Prior to joining CAAM, she was the Events Marketing Producer for General Assembly, a TechEd organization, as well as a Community Manager at Kumu Technologies, the largest social entertainment app based in Manila, Philippines. She holds a BS in Communications and is a proud alumna of Skyline College’s Kababayan Learning Community.

Joanne been an events producer, public speaker, and community organizer for over 15 years, co-founding a social dining group called “kapaMEALya” and 501c3 nonprofit “The Filipino Food Movement”. Notable events include “Regional Filipino Celebration” at the James Beard Foundation House in New York, FYLPRO’s “Seattle’s Filipino Soiree” at the Seattle Repertory Theater, the annual Pinayista Summit, and “Pinays in the Kitchen” food research presentation at the Chicago FANHS Conference.

She is also a contributing author for two books: “In Her Purpose: 40 Principles of Asian Women Redefining Success on Their Own Terms” (2020) and “The New Filipino Kitchen: Stories and Recipes From Around the Globe” (2018).

Outside of CAAM, Jo likes to build with Legos, go out for AYCE Korean BBQ, hot pot, and sushi, and watch food shows. Joanne’s goal is to produce meaningful events, products, and experiences that will bring a positive impact to the community.
