In November, CAAM was on location in Sydney, Australia to film Tony and Olivier Award-winning singer and Disney legend Lea Salonga in concert. Best known for her roles in musical theatre and supplying the singing voices of two Disney Princesses (Jasmine and Mulan), Lea performed three sold out shows at the iconic Sydney Opera House. The live concert — a CAAM production — is expected to premiere on PBS in 2020.

Known for her powerhouse vocals and perfect pitch, Lea performed alongside the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, covering hits from musicals such as Miss Saigon and Les Miserables, as well as iconic songs from classic Disney movies. In addition to her well known songs, Lea’s performances traversed contemporary pop to rock ballads and beyond. Gerard Salonga, music director of ABS-CBN in Manila and Lea’s younger brother, was the conductor throughout the Australian tour.

Thank you to our production partners Blink TV who filmed the concert, Michael Cassel Group who presented the tour in Australia, Josh Pultz of Amplified Entertainment, the Sydney Opera House, and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
