CAAMFest 2017 Members Sneak Preview

Support from members and the general public allows CAAM to produce and present compelling and innovative stories by and about Asian Americans for a diverse world.

Last Thursday, we welcomed nearly 100 CAAM members and donors from our “Who is American? educational and community outreach” crowdfunding campaign to our annual CAAMFest Sneak Preview.

Members noshed on samosas and dumplings from Lee’s Deli, were served drinks by CAAM staff members, and watched a 30 minute sneak preview of CAAMFest 2017’s Closing Night film, The Chinese Exclusion Act, a documentary co-produced by CAAM that World Premieres at the Castro Theatre on Sunday, March 19, 2017. Attendees also watched two of the selected films in our shorts program this year, made by two of our local filmmakers.

Support from members and the general public allows CAAM to produce and present compelling and innovative stories by and about Asian Americans for a diverse world.

Attendees also purchased advanced tickets to our annual CAAMFeast Awards gala (March 4, 2017) and our CAAMFest Early Bird programs, which are available to purchase here.

If you are not currently a CAAM sustaining member or your membership has lapsed, we encourage to you to join or renew today in honor of our 35th Anniversary CAAMFest. Members receive wonderful benefits throughout the year, including the chance to buy tickets before the general public during the members-only ticket purchasing period (February 9-12, 2017), ticket discounts and other fantastic benefits.

Thank you for your support and partnership. We look forward to seeing you at CAAMFest and CAAMFeast!

Special thanks to our program partners: Lee’s Deli; David Lei, CAAM Board Member; David Tu and Kristl Lee; Rich Burns and Li-Shin Yu, co-directors, The Chinese Exclusion Act; Steeplechase Films; Arpita Kumar, CAAMFest 2017 filmmaker; and Tina Takemoto, CAAMFest 2017 filmmaker.
