The Festival is proud to announce the 26th edition, March 13-23, 2008, will once again be back at the Sundance Cinemas Kabuki, along with the Castro Theatre, Clay Theatre, Pacific Film Archive in Berkeley and Camera 12 Cinemas in San Jose.

The Sundance Cinemas Kabuki officially finishes renovations and opens to the public. Sundance Cinemas will ‘unveil’ the new Sundance Cinemas Kabuki following special grand opening community events on Friday, December 14th.

Sundance Cinemas has done a remarkable job of taking an existing 8 screen complex and completely transforming the interiors into a first-class film center. In addition to adding stadium seating, Sundance Cinemas added the Kabuki Kitchen restaurant next door, two new bar bistros on the second and third floors, a new concession area and lounge spaces, all while utilizing a careful mixture of rustic and Japan inspired design finishes.

“Keeping with honoring the past, living in the present, while moving towards the future the Sundance Cinemas Kabuki pays homage to a rich history and a vibrant community while offering a new and unique film-going experience.,” said Sundance founder Robert Redford. “I’m really happy to finally have this exhibition venture in San Francisco, a city with which I have a long history and a long standing admiration.”

The Sundance Cinemas Kabuki has many distinctive features:
