By weaving together interviews and images, BOLO BOLO is a cutting edge and frank look at silence, AIDS and sexuality in the diasporic South Asian community of Toronto, Canada. The response is diverse, showcasing testimonials from artists and activists – gay, lesbian, and straight, and covering the barriers and successes that come with the discussion, education, and organization of AIDS information and awareness. Amongst those interviewed are photographer Sunil Gupta and professor/activist Himani Bannerji.

“[BOLO BOLO] isn’t anti-sex...medical, social, personal and political contexts all come into play.”
