SUSTAIN CAAM'S MISSION

Giving Programs

CAAM provides a visible and enduring platform for Asian American stories and storytellers. Through engaging year-round programs and artist development initiatives, we support and amplify under-told narratives, spur vital community connections, and raise cultural awareness.

Together with your support, we create a more inclusive American story and engage the broader public in reimagining with us.

Over the last three years, CAAM has been rededicating itself to meet the challenges and opportunities of these times to engage with communities in more impactful ways. Our staff has been focused on being intentional about profound shifts affecting American culture and society and thinking through how inclusion can be better integrated into the structures that enable our significant work. As a part of this effort, CAAM has discontinued the Membership program and has transitioned to a reimagined giving program centered on sustaining CAAM’s mission that better supports our growing community of donors like you.

Founders Circle

Take your donation even further through CAAM’s Founders Circle program. Inspired by CAAM’s founding history, which began in the 1980s by independent filmmakers, media activists, and educators to counter the scarcity of images and misrepresentation of Asians and Asian Americans in film and television, the Founders Circle is a growing group of generous individuals and families committed to expanding opportunity and resources for Asian American storytellers as co-creators of the American narrative. With gifts of $1,000 or more, they support critical projects and fund compelling, diverse stories to illuminate important issues and positively impact the lives of Asian American storytellers.

“I wouldn’t have a filmmaking career without CAAM. They introduced me to a local PBS station that broadcasted my first historical documentary, and they’ve been there reading through proposals and treatments of project ideas (both good and bad) giving me feedback and support. My relationship with the people from CAAM are for life. And through their film festival, they’ve shown me the world of the Asian and Asian American filmmaking. They have made me see that being an Asian American and, in particular, a Filipino American, is an asset as a storyteller, a perspective on the world that has not been mined and that people are hungry to take .” - Marissa Aroy, Filmmaker
