Many years ago I was taught to dream in detail and that such details involve the discipline of placing one foot patiently in front of the other. Walking to my scheduled appointment with Kiyoshi Kurosawa—whose most recent film Tokyo Sonata screened during this year’s Toronto International Film Festival—I kept watching the tips of my shoes on the sidewalk; the fulfillment of some dreams are just that vivid.
Presented by the Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project (QWOCMAP) The 4th annual Queer Women of Color Film Festival showcases the explosive stories of our community, from the quick turns of a dyke couple on a mission to conceive to the fierce shimmy of big bodacious babes to the dynamic strut of a queer secret agent, these fly films will let you get down, get funky and get loose!

CAAM has long been one of the host organizations for the Asian Pacific Film Experience in Park City, held every January during the Sundance and Slamdance Film Festivals. Our Filmmakers Reception – now in it’s seventh inception – is an opportunity to highlight and recognize the Asian Pacific American works represented at the two festivals.
