CAAMFest San Jose kicked off last night with the Opening Night program, “Fresh Off the Boat,” and 90s themed Opening Night Party at the San Jose Museum of Art. Never fear, there are plenty more films and events through the end of Sunday!
After 11 amazing days of Asian and Asian American film, music and food, CAAMFest 2015 closes the curtains on another successful year. As the nation’s largest festival of its kind, CAAM welcomed participants from all over the world and showcased over 100 films from 20 different countries.
“I was deeply moved by two films that explored shame in subtle and powerful ways. Monday was shame day at CAAMFest, but I left the Kabuki and New People feeling empowered. We can make a difference. Film matters.”
“Typically, as a farmer, I work in relative isolation. I relish silence. I find sweet solitude on the farm. The experience of making this film opened our work in new ways. Spending a year with the filmmakers and crew was a wild experience.”
