CAAMFest 2018 Sneak Preview Recap

Support from members and the general public allows CAAM to produce and present compelling and innovative stories by and about Asian Americans for a diverse world.

Last night, we welcomed nearly 80 of CAAM’s closest supporters, sponsors, members, CAAM Board members, and filmmaker partners to our annual CAAMFest Sneak Preview at Airbnb’s San Francisco headquarters.

Guests noshed on delicious samosas from Kasa Indian Eatery, were treated to several flavors of Taiwanese-style shaved snow from Powder, served drinks by CAAM staff members, and watched a 12-minute sneak preview of CAAMFest36 Opening Night film, An American Story: Norman Mineta and His Legacy, a documentary by Bay Area native Dianne Fukami that captures the life, career, and contributions of Norman Mineta that will be presented at the Castro Theatre on Thursday, May 10, 2018.  Attendees also watched two of the selected films in our shorts program this year, made by three of our local filmmakers.

Support from members and the general public allows CAAM to produce and present compelling and innovative stories by and about Asian Americans for a diverse world.

Attendees also had the opportunity to buy early bird tickets to the CAAMFest36 Opening Night and Closing Night Presentations, as well as the CAAMFest All-Access Pass, which are available to purchase here.

If you are not currently a CAAM sustaining member or your membership has lapsed, we encourage to you to join or renew today in honor of our 36th Anniversary CAAMFest. Members receive wonderful benefits throughout the year, including members-only ticket discounts, the chance to buy tickets before the general public during the members-only ticket purchasing period (April 12-15, 2018), and other fantastic benefits.

Thank you for your support and partnership. We look forward to seeing you at CAAMFest36, May 10-24, 2018!

Special thanks to our program partners: Airbnb, Kasa Indian Eatery, Powder, Dianne Fukami, Debra Nakatomi (An American Story: Norman Mineta and His Legacy co-producer), Hailey Yang (An American Story: Norman Mineta and His Legacy editor), Camille Obata (An American Story: Norman Mineta and His Legacy archivist/researcher), Alleluia Panis (CAAMFest36 filmmaker) Wilfred Galila (CAAMFest36 filmmaker) and Tina Takemoto (CAAMFest36 filmmaker).
