CAAM Co-Presents Ruby Yang’s “My Voice, My Life” Screening for Academy Award Consideration

The film follows the production of the musical, “The Awakening,” by students from “lower-tier” high schools in Hong Kong and the personal transformation each student experiences during the production.

CAAM is proud to co-present an exclusive screening of Academy Award-winning director Ruby Yang’s latest film, My Voice, My Life, for consideration for the 88th Academy Awards Nominations.

CAAM Executive Director Stephen Gong will moderate the Q&A with director Ruby Yang following the film screening. Local members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences are invited to attend the event.

The CAAM members exclusive screening takes place Wednesday, November 4, 2015 and 7:30pm at the Landmark Embarcadero Cinema in San Francisco. The film follows the production of the musical, “The Awakening,” by students from “lower-tier” high schools in Hong Kong and the personal transformation each student experiences during the production. Some of the students are disabled, while others are socioeconomically disadvantaged and struggling in school.

My Voice, My Life, screened at CAAMFest 2015 in March and has received rave reviews here and internationally.
