CAAM Filmmaker Spotlight: Andrew Ahn

On October 26th, CAAM and the GAPA Foundation present a free screening of Korean American short films by filmmaker Andrew Ahn, including "Dol" (First Birthday) and a sneak peak at upcoming feature "Spa Night."

Please join the Center for Asian American Media and the GAPA Foundation for a screening of short films by filmmaker Andrew Ahn, including Dol (First Birthday), which played at the Sundance Film Festival in 2012. CAAM presented Dol at our San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (now CAAMFest) in 2012 and Ahn’s other short film Andy at SFIAAFF in 2011.

We’re thrilled for the opportunity to spotlight Ahn’s work through this special selection of Korean American short films that explore the topics of family, identity, and sexuality. The screening will include a sneak peek at Ahn’s upcoming feature length film Spa Night. Ahn recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise  $60,000 to complete Spa Night: Click here to learn more.

The screening will be presented on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 2 pm at the Ninth Street Independent Film Center (145 Ninth Street, San Francisco, CA 94103) screening room. This screening is free, but we request that you RSVP online at the Facebook event page.
