Premiering Friday, September 16th in San Francisco is the full-length directorial debut of Mun Chee Yong’s film, WHERE THE ROAD MEETS THE SUN. And, CAAM is thrilled to co-present its run at Opera Plaza Cinemas from the 16th to the 22nd!
WHERE THE ROAD MEETS THE SUN follows Takashi (Wil Yun Lee of WHAT’S COOKING?) from Tokyo to L.A. escape a love lost. A brooding drifter, Takashi has forgotten much of the painful details of his past after suffering a serious accident that caused him to go into a coma for several years. The film, itself, lands us smack in the intersection of the lives of four men – one of whom is hotel manager Blake (Eric Mabius, UGLY BETTY’s Daniel Meade) – who have drifted into a low-rent hotel in gritty Los Angeles, set vaguely between East Hollywood and Echo Park.
WHERE THE ROAD MEETS THE SUN has been touring the United States to much critical acclaim, and has received both the Special Jury Award for Best Acting Ensemble and Outstanding Cinematography at the 2011 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.
