Off the Menu: Asian America coming to Dallas, LA, Boston and San Diego!

Screenings presented by Visual Communications in LA and Dallas VideoFest in October, and San Diego Asian Film Festival in November.

Just announced: Off the Menu: Asian America will be screening in Dallas, Los Angeles and San Diego!

The documentary comes to Dallas VideoFest October 17, 2015 at 2pm.

A special screening presented by Visual Communications will take place at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 4pm. Director Grace Lee and Producer Eurie Chung will be in attendance, and the event will include a panel moderated by journalist and scholar Oliver Wang (and Off the Menu story contributor) featuring a panel of Asian Americans in the food world, with a reception to follow.

Off the Menu will also be at the Boston Asian American Film Festival, also on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 3pm.

And in November, Off the Menu is coming to the San Diego Asian Film Festival (SDAFF) on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 3:20pm.

“In her most tightly-made documentary to date, Grace Lee cooks up a simple multi-course meal that strives for nothing less than a sociology of food. As with her breakthrough The Grace Lee Project (SDAFF ’05), Lee has a way of mapping out the diversity of Asian America – and approaches to Asian America – through a single thread-line that despite its modesty reveals a “spirit” that connects an entire pan-ethnicity,” writes festival director Brian Hu in the film’s description.
