Off the Menu: Asian America Recipe Contest

Off-the-Menu_Oak-Creek-Wisconsin

Family. Culture. Faith. Community. Off the Menu: Asian America explores the evolving meaning of food in our communities, from the kitchens and factories to temples and farms that make up Asian Pacific America.

We want to hear about your signature Asian American dish and what it means to you. Submit your original Asian American recipe to the Center for Asian American Media for a chance to win $100 gift certificates to Williams-Sonoma or Umami Mart. The popular vote winner receives $50 to Umami Mart, plus Banyan Foods and MA’O Organic Farms gear.

Does a certain dish remind you of your grandma? Of your home country or of a family holiday? Have you adapted a traditional recipe to reflect your current tastes? We want to hear from as many cooks across the country, with your delicious take on an Asian or Asian-inspired dish.

Your recipe does not have to be traditional. As Fung Tu Chef Jonathan Wu says in Off the Menu, it’s the “authenticity of spirit” that counts.

How to enter:

• Fill out the contest form (below)
• Post your photo on Instagram with the title of your dish and #OfftheMenuAsianAmerica
