Filmmaker Resources

CAAM Media Fund awards funding to film and media projects through our various funding initiatives and talent development programs:

READY, SET, PITCH!
Deadline: February 8, 2012

Expanding upon our long tradition of supporting independent producers through funding and talent development, CAAM is currently accepting submissions of all media genres (documentary, narrative and multimedia) for our first ever READY, SET, PITCH! – a live fundraising event at this year’s SFIAAFF 2012.

CAAM Documentary Fund

Through the CAAM Documentary Fund, CAAM offers funding for production and post-production as well as the James T. Yee Fellowship. Over the years we’ve funded a diverse array of projects that have gone on to screen at festivals such as Sundance, Tribeca, Hot Docs, and our own San Francisco Int’l Asian American Film Festival. Finished projects reach a public television audience through our Public Broadcast department on programs such as P.O.V. and Independent Lens.

FILMMAKER SUPPORT

Media Fund staff takes part in filmmaker outreach and support activities at events such as the annual IFP Market in New York and the Sundance Film Festival. In addition to hosting mixers for the local film community and receptions at film festivals, at our own SF International Asian American Film Festival we help coordinate panels on recent trends and issues in filmmaking.

In the past Media Fund staff has nominated filmmakers for programs such as the Disney-ABC Talent Development and the NATPE Fox Diversity Fellowship. Through our website, Media Fund also encourages filmmakers by offering a space for individuals to learn about new opportunities and projects as well as communicate with other filmmakers.
