Bay Area LadyFest and WOMEN 我們

This week we recognize strong powerful WOMEN and how ideas of gender roles and values are anything but simple.

Here are two awesome community events to check out!

The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928)

CAAM and Ladyfest Bay Area (an annual grassroots event organized by women, runs 9/13 – 9/16), co-present “One Good Turn” of the shared experiences of women around the world. Film selections include home movies of SF Chinatown, a retelling of “Alice in Wonderland” and the centerpiece, a segment of “The Passion of Joan of Arc” (1928). The films were curated by our very own Christine Kwon (Festival Managing Director).

Date: Thursday, September 13th at 8:00pm.
Venue
: Oddball Films, 275 Capp Street San Francisco
Admission: $10.00 Limited Seating RSVP to programming@oddballfilm.com or (415) 558-8117

“Refined, ravishing, and rife with complexity, the ladies in this collection serve to dispel the myth of the magical woman and present something much more real — women who play, fight, and work, and look damn good doing it.” – Oddball Films
