CAAM is proud to co-present Dalya’s Other Country on PBS’ POV. Dalya’s Other Country tells the nuanced story of members of a family displaced by the Syrian conflict who are remaking themselves after the parents separate. Effervescent teen Dalya goes to Catholic high school and her mother, Rudayna, enrolls in college as they both walk the line between their Muslim values and the new world in which they find themselves.

The 30th season of POV kicks off with Dalya’s Other Country on June 26, 2017, and is one of five films on on the new season of POV that spotlight Syrian Americans and the refugee crisis. The documentary is directed by Julia Meltzer and co-produced by Mustafa Rony Zeno. Mustafa Rony Zeno is a consulting producer on the CAAM-funded interactive documentary, K-TOWN ’92, directed by Grace Lee.
