Muslim Youth Voices Call for Youth Participants!

Muslim Youth Voices free filmmaking workshops are back this summer in Dallas, TX and Portland, OR.

CAAM’s Muslim Youth Voices Project summer workshops are back. This summer, we’ll be holding youth filmmaking workshops in Dallas, TX and Portland, OR. The workshops are for Muslim American youth ages 12-18.

Muslim Youth Voices is a national project that supports media making from a new generation of storytellers. MYVP will provide free filmmaking workshops for Muslim youth in six cities across the country over three years. This summer will be the third year of the workshops.

Workshops will be led by Sundance Award-winning filmmaker Musa Syeed. Syeed’s first feature film, VALLEY OF SAINTS, won the 2012 Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival. He has taught film for Williams College and the Tribeca Film Institute. Syeed was a Fulbright Fellow in Egypt and is an alumnus of the Tisch School of the Arts and the Middle Eastern & Islamic Studies Department at New York University.
