Hafu: The Mixed-Race Experience in Japan and The Road to Fame will air nationally on public television stations starting this month. Both documentaries were supported by the CAAM Media Fund.

Hafu by Megumi Nishikura and Lara Perez Takagi focuses on the “unfolding journey of discovery into the intricacies of mixed-race Japanese and their multicultural experience in modern day Japan.” – Hafu film

The Road to Fame by Hao Wu “chronicles the journey of the Central Academy of Drama’s senior class as it stages the American musical Fame — China’s first official collaboration with Broadway. During the process, five students compete for roles, struggle with pressure from family and authority and prepare to graduate into a cutthroat and corrupt show business. They must confront complex social realities and their own anxieties while negotiating their own paths to success in today’s China.” PBS. Watch the film online or check local listings.
