The Center for Southeast Asia Studies at UC Berkeley presents a free film screening of A VILLAGE CALLED VERSAILLES. Followed by a discussion with director S. Leo Chiang.

Versailles is a tight-knit neighborhood on the outskirts of New Orleans that is home to one of the country¹s densest populations of Vietnamese-Americans. After Hurricane Katrina, the residents of Versailles worked to rebuild their homes, only to have their community threatened by plans to establish a toxic landfill in their neighborhood. This new documentary looks at how the community fought back.
