Our New Initiative: CAAM takes on New Media

Thanks to The Wallace Foundation Excellence Award, we are launching a new digital initiative this year! Support the first phase of our new media attack by joining our facebook page!

grpk_fb.gifCAAM is very excited to be launching a new initiative this year. In November 2007 The Wallace Foundation awarded CAAM, along with 10 other San Francisco-based arts organizations, a grant to foster increased public participation in the arts. The Wallace Foundation Excellence Awards were created to support arts organizations in pioneering effective practices that engage more people in arts activities. CAAM will specifically use the grant money to broaden and diversify its audience base for the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival by becoming more active in online social networks and creating new media projects that provide a context for communities to participate in.

I’ll be updating you on different projects that are part of this new initiative as we embark on them. We are kicking off this new initiative by being more active in online social networks. Right now we are focusing on facebook. We need to increase the number of fans we have on our facebook page in order to help get the word about our Film Festival (which is happening March 13 – 23, 2008, btw). Being connected to us on facebook will insure that you will get the latest news about our Film Festival events and you will get access to exclusive announcements and tantalizing video tidbits. So here is a really easy way to help CAAM be successful in a new initiative: join our facebook page! Already a fan on our page? Look for the super share button or the “share with friends” link and tell you network to join the CAAM Film Festival facebook page! That would be awesome. Thank you.
