Musicians and Filmmakers, Win a Spot at the Festival!

Locus Arts, in conjunction with the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival, is calling for musicians and filmmakers for Do It Yourself Music Video Night.

Locus Arts, in conjunction with the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (SFIAAFF) presented by the Center for Asian American Media, is calling for musicians and filmmakers.

Presenting the Do It Yourself Music Video Night, Locus Arts is teaming up Asian American musicians with Asian American filmmakers to make music videos to premier at a Locus Arts event in February 2008.

Teams will also compete in an online voting contest, hosted on www.asianamericanmedia.org, as part of an affiliate event with the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival. The winning video of the online voting contest will be screened in the Music Video Asia program at SFIAAFF and the winning musician/musicians will also get a chance to play at a live event at SFIAAFF.


Locus Arts is looking for Asian American musicians and directors interested in making music videos to submit a short bio about themselves along with the following;

*Solo musicians and bands must have a CD quality recording of the song you would like to use in a music video. If you have a sample of the song posted online, please email Locus Arts a link your website or MySpace page. If you do not have your work posted online, email Locus Arts and they can make arrangements to get a sample from you.

*Filmmakers must have their own video camera and editing software, and a sample of their work. If you have a sample of your work posted online, please email Locus Arts a link your work. If you do not have your work posted online, email Locus Arts and they can make arrangements to get a sample from you.

The deadline to let Locus know that you are interested in participating is December 17, 2007. If you know any budding directors, producers, storytellers, bands, singers, songwriters and MC’s looking to get involved, network and make music videos please forward this call to them.

No prior experience with music videos is necessary.
